This new painting my aunt did for us for Christmas. Its AH-MAZING and I cannot wait to find the perfect spot for it. If you haven't met him or don't read my blog often...this is our life-of-the-party lab, Jake. Wanna know what someone at work said when I said that someone painted a picture of my dog for me?? "Girl, you need a baby." I have one...he's just a little furry. :)
Spending another year and another Valentines Day with Matt
On the 11th, Matt and I have officially been an "us" for 11 years. I love that this 18 year old guy in this picture has only gotten better in the last 11 years. Our love has only stronger and our fun only bigger. We spent our Valentine's Day buying a new washer (wahoo!) and going to see "Just Go with It". Pretty cute :) I also have to say that he did wait almost an hour (which is WAY long considering how hungry I know he was) because he knew how much I wanted to have Carrabba's for dinner last night! :) Do we look as young as it feels to me like we do in this picture?? Gotta love the braces. This is from his prom night...April 2000.
One Born Every MinuteNew show on Lifetime...40 cameras placed around a L&D unit capturing different families experiences. Ok, maybe I don't LOVE this...but its definitely fun to watch!! Only 2 episodes so far but by far the most "realistic" look at birthing I have seen so far. The families crack me up. You can actually watch the episodes online. Can't wait to see the one where the dad drops the camera on the baby just born and on the warmer. Ha!! :)
Whether its been newer relationships or old ones that we have had for years, we have been spending alot of our free time with friends. We talk all the time about how we prayed for God to bless our marriage with a strong group of friends and a strong Sunday school life group where we could feel at home. BOY have we found that with "Starting Point" which has blossomed into "The Great Commissioned" at church. Our friends are wonderful and we feel blessed to get to spend our lives with them!!
This includes a new weekly Bible study that Matt and I are helping to lead. We're studying the book by Gary Thomas, Sacred Marriage. Last week was our first meeting and we are already SO enjoying it. The idea of the study is "What If God Designed Marriage to make us HOLY more than to make us happy??" Wow, what an awesome concept to tackle. We have TWENTY couples from our class that have committed to it for the next 6 weeks. God is so awesome.
So those are just a few things I am particularly loving right now...not to mention the idea that we think winter is gone (yea!!) and spring is on the way.
